M. William Benedetto

Mr. Benedetto co-founded BGC in 1988 and is Chairman Emeritus of the firm. He primarily advises clients with respect to overall financial strategy, M&A transactions and related corporate governance issues.

He previously served as Executive Vice President, Director and Manager of Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc.’s Investment Banking Division, Head of Corporate Finance for Warburg, Paribas, Becker and head of Blyth Eastman Dillon’s Chicago office.

Mr. Benedetto is a member of the Board of Directors of Georgetown University, Chairman of Georgetown’s Board of Regents, former Lead Director of Donna Karan International while it was a public company, and former Chairman of the Securities Industry Association’s Corporate Finance Committee. He is a Director and Chairman of the investment committee of FidelisCare, a not for profit offering health care insurance primarily to Medicare and Medicaid enrollees. He is also a Director of publicly held Global Brands Acquisition Corp. and is co-author of “Initial Public Offerings: A Strategic Planner for Raising Equity Capital.”

He received an A.B. in Philosophy from Georgetown University, did graduate work at New York University’s School of Business Administration, and served on active duty as an officer in the United States Air Force.

Arthur J. Gartland Jr.

Mr. Gartland co-founded BGC in 1988 and is Chairman of the firm. His focus is capital raising for investment partnerships.

Prior to joining BGC, Mr. Gartland was a Managing Director of Kidder, Peabody & Co. Inc., where he was the senior officer responsible for marketing and sales of high yield securities.

Prior to Kidder, Peabody, Mr. Gartland was a Director of Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc. and a Managing Director within its Investment Banking Division. He also managed that firm's private placement, project finance, leasing, regulated industries and healthcare finance groups.

Before joining Dean Witter, Mr. Gartland was an Associate with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in its Corporate Finance Department, specializing in private placements and project finance.

Mr. Gartland received a B.A. from Boston College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He served on active duty as an officer in the United States Marine Corps.

Charles B. Mobus

Mr. Mobus joined BGC in 1994 and is a Managing Partner. His focus is corporate advisory and capital raising assignments. Since joining the firm, Mr. Mobus has represented clients in a number of restructurings including Imrex, LLC, International Airline Support Group, Potomoc Capital Investment Corp., USAfrica Airlines, as well as completing merger and acquisition and growth financings for Imrex, LLC, Protocol Communications, JustCare, MobileStar Network Corporation, pix.com and O’Sullivan Menu Publishing.

During the previous five years, Mr. Mobus was a Managing Director of Smith Barney's Financial Restructuring and Mergers and Acquisitions Groups. He represented a variety of debtors and creditor groups in financial restructurings, including Zale, Kinder-Care Learning Centers, Pan Am, Icahn/TWA, Ames Department Stores and the Forum Group. During his tenure at Smith Barney, Mr. Mobus formed and managed a leveraged buyout coverage group, which specialized in acquisitions, high-yield financing, initial public offerings and exclusive sales for leveraged buyout firms.

From 1983 to 1989 Mr. Mobus was a Vice President of Kidder, Peabody & Co. Inc. in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group. He executed a wide range of mergers and acquisitions and leveraged buyout transactions for private equity clients such as Kohlberg, Kravis & Roberts and Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, and for public clients such as MultiLocal Media, Anchor Hoching, Entertainment Publications, SPS Technologies, Burpee Seed Company and Anacomp River Breeding Labs. He also represented the Board of Directors of A.H. Robins in its Chapter 11 proceedings, the Board of Directors of Patrick Petroleum in its out-of-court restructuring and the Fontle Group in its acquisition of distressed Dart Drug Stores.

Mr. Mobus was with Citibank N.A. from 1979 to 1983 where he was responsible for representing Citibank's interests in the bankruptcies and/or workouts of Chrysler, Mattel, Harnischfeger, Nashua, Texas Steel, Salt Creek Freightways, Minicomputers, and Flight Transportation.

Mr. Mobus received a B.S. from Lehigh University.

Paul A. Rahn

Mr. Rahn joined BGC in 1994 and is a Managing Director. His focus is corporate advisory and capital raising assignments. Since joining the firm, Mr. Rahn has represented clients in a number of restructurings including Imrex, LLC, International Airline Support Group, Potomac Capital Investment Corp., USAfrica Airlines, as well as completing merger and acquisition and growth financings for Imrex, LLC, Protocol Communications, JustCare, MobileStar Network Corporation, pix.com and O’Sullivan Menu Publishing.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Rahn was an Investment Manager with Capricorn Management, G.P., a private equity investment firm and leveraged buyout sponsor. He completed transactions and worked closely with the management teams and boards of directors of National Tank Company, Marine Drilling, Inc., American Premier Resources, DynCorp, Cummings Point Industries, Inc., and NHP, Inc.

Prior to joining Capricorn, Mr. Rahn was a Vice President in the Corporate Finance Department of Chemical Bank, where he worked on equity investments, leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions and financial restructurings for clients of the bank, including Global Natural Resources, Inc., Duro-Test Corporation, Frontier Refining Corporation, Tejas Power Corporation, Reading & Bates Corp., Eagle-Picher Industries, Inc., Ethan Allan, Inc., and Texaco Corp.

Before Chemical Bank, Mr. Rahn was an Associate with Hewitt Associates, an actuarial and employee benefit consulting firm.

Mr. Rahn received a B.A. from Carleton College and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Mayme Tong, CPA

Ms. Tong joined BGC, Inc. in 2008 as the firm's Chief Financial Officer. Since joining the firm, Ms. Tong also assumed the role of Chief Compliance Officer.

Prior to joining BGC, Ms. Tong was the Controller and Treasurer at Investcorp International Inc. She was responsible for managing the company's financial and accounting functions, fund accounting and supported the Private Equity, Technology Investment, Real Estate, and Hedge Fund business units.

Prior to Investcorp, she was the Senior Audit Manager at Shalik, Morris & Company, PC, a CPA firm, specializing in audits of real estate and HUD subsidized housing projects.

Ms. Tong holds a B.A. in Accounting & Information Systems from Queens College of the City University of New York and is a Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
